Part 3: Configure and run the MdB sample The Message Driven Beans Sample is a very simple messaging application, that supports both Point-to-Point and Publish-Subscribe styles of messaging. For this exercise, we will only be using the Point-to-Point style of messaging. The Message-Driven Bean(MDB)Sample consists of an Application client and 2 MDBs. The application client sends a message to a queue or a topic, each of which have an MDB acting as a JMS message listener. The message includes a temporary reply-to queue The MDB listening to the queue or topic receives the request message and sends a response to the reply-to destination taken from the request The client then receives the response from the reply-to queue Running the MDB Sample application During this part of the exercise, you will use the WebSphere Samples Gallery to investigate the MDB Sample application and use a command line facility(launchClient) to actually run the application. Since the MDB sample has been pre-deployed and pre-configured, both of these activities are fairly simple and straightforward. Because the Message-driven Beans sample has a J2EE application client, you will use a utility called launch client to run the application. The J2EE specification requires support for a client container that runs stand-alone Java applications(known as J2EE application clients)and provides J2EE services to the applications. J2EE services include naming, security, and resource connections 1. Launch the Web Sphere Samples Gallery a.
