Enhancing Creativity in Your Child by Blogging What is creativity? Can it be learnt? Is it a special talent that you are born with?Do only some people have it or is it present in everyone? We can think of creativity as the ability to make something unexpected out of something ordinary. It can be expressed through art:Drawing a new and unexpected perspective of an ordinary scene;through words:Writing a story with an unusual ending;or through crafts:Using common materials to make extraordinary objects. Young children are almost always creative.Every experience is new to them. As a result, they find it easy to come up with an uncommon use for ordinary objects or to interpret a normal occurrence in a new way.Their imaginations enable them to explore new ways of thinking.A cardboard box becomes a doll-house,a boat,a car or a portal to another world. Creativity is a precious attribute, but sadly,it often diminishes as the child gets older, especially once they start school. In school, your child learns that only correct answers matter. The problem is that the correct answers are usually answers which come from text books or from memorizing what the teacher tells them.Answers that they come up with on their own are usually not good enough. The result of this is a natural reduction of original thought and a stifling of your child's inborn curiosity. You can counter that by starting a blog together with your child.Blogging can enhance your child's creativity in many ways. Page Design In designing the pages of your blog, your child will be able to express his individuality in his choice of colors, graphics, backgrounds and fonts. He can experiment freely with no fear of disappointing his teachers, family or friends. No need to worry about the right way and the wrong way to present his ideas. He will think in terms of what works and what doesn't. In addition,he will feel good about himself when people give him positive feedback about the appearance of his blog.
