Chinas basic research funding should be increased, and the structure be optimized. We should understand both of the uses of basic research, such as sources, strategy, discipline, culture, and education, in addition to getting out of one's head about the phase characteristics of basic research investment. It is necessary for us to learn to mplement the new demands of the new era, to strengthen strategic guidance and top-level design,to increase the central finance funding and diversified investment, to promote personnel training and team building, so as to give full play to the role of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
