Department of Teacher Education, Anging Normal University, Anging 246000, China) Abstart: Child abuse and neglect have become one of the concerns of many researchers around the world. Years of research have shown that abuse and neglect can have profound impact on an individuals social functioning and physical and mental health. This paper will discuss the current research progress in this field from the spects of definition, classification, domestic and foreign status, measurement and identification, as well as harm and risk factors of child abuse and neglect. This paper has drawn the conclusion that further study on the prevention and intervention of abuse and neglect is needed in the future.
