Teaching Plan Family Life (Reading) By Pang Juan(庞娟) Nanshan Experimental Educational Group Nanhai Middle School 南山实验教育集团南海中学 Analysis of the teaching material: Family life is the reading passage from Unit 3 of 9A Oxford English,which was published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.It includes two interviews about family life: one is about Emily,and the other is about Jerry.The topic is familiar to students.And as both Emily and Jerry are teenagers,students may find that they have something in common.By reading the two interviews,students can know about what different family life is like. Teaching objectives: At the end of this lesson,the students will be able to: Language knowledge Master the words (iron,abroad,relationship,possessions,out of date,etc.)and figure out the question asked of each paragraph. Summarize the main ideas of each paragraph and figure out the Language skills questions asked of the two interviews. Learning strategy Use the reading strategy of compare and contrast to analyze Emily' s and Jerry's family life; Emotion and attitude Understand the importance of family.
