1.主要内容 Task 1 Introducing new terminology The aim of this task is to introduce students to the ways in which lecturers use terminology. Refer to recent lectures in the lecture cycle.Ask the students to think of any technical terms the lecturers have introduced and ask how the lecturers explained these.Then refer students to the list in the Course Book and ask them if the lecturers used any of these techniques,or other techniques. The list is not intended as an exhaustive one,and you and the students may like to add to it as you listen to different lectures in the course.If students struggle to remember technical terms or techniques,you could select words and techniques and make a matching activity. Task 2 Embedded words The aim of this task is to give students experience of listening to a lecture which includes technical terminology. Task 3 Introducing terms and concepts (1) The aim of this task is to show students how lecturers introduce terms and concepts. Task 4 Introducing terms and concepts(2) The aim of this task is to show students the techniques lecturers use to define terminology. Note:The term monopoly refers to a market in which one company has complete control because it is the only supplier of a product.A dominant company is one which has a very large share of a market;other companies operate in the market,but have a much smaller market share.The lecturer suggests that real monopolies are very rare,but dominance of companies is very common. Task 5 Microskills:Weak forms of function words This task focuses on recognizing the weak forms of function words such as articles,auxiliaries and prepositions. 3.问题与应用(能力要求) Practise introducing terms and concepts.
