It is also a kind of religious belief phenomenon which has a wide influence. This paper, from the perspective of sociology and folklore, probes into the various functions of the ocean religious beliefs in the regions of Zhoushan Islands like social stability mantains, mental comfort needs, human emotion regulations and social anxiety release.
