The characteristics of the existing methods for evaluation of ecological environment were introduced. The researches on the impact of inter2basin water transfer projects on the ecological environment in China were found to be at the research stage of qualitative analysis of influencing factors. It was put forward that during the construction of water resources projects , the temporal and spatial distribution of water resources should be fully considered and the scientific , economic and rational inter2 basin water transfer schemes should be employed so as to minimize the impact of inter2basin water transfer on ecological environment. The results show that the relationship is linearly correlated. The data of Nanjing City was employed to verify the above results, and the same conclusion was drawn. Finally , some suggestions were put forward to coordinate water resources investment and urbanization development. The water resources input2output tables by researchers were classified into 3 kinds: utilization of water resources , analysis of water resources pollution and investment into water resources. The water resources input2output models were mostly applied to the analysis of characteristics correlation of water utilization for various sectors , analysis of water resources allocation , analysis of water price and the analysis of virtual water trade , etc. Several problems concerning researches and application of water resources input2output models in China were put forward. Key words : water resources; water resources economy ; input2output model ; overview Impact on national economy of water production and supply sectors during 1987~2005/ XIANG Jun , et al (Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science , Chinese Academy of Sciences , Beijing 100190 , China) Abstract : With regard to the rapid development of water production and supply sectors in recent years , the changing trends and causes of influence coefficient of water production and supply sectors were analyzed based on 5 input2output tables of 32 sectors during 1987 ~ 2005. The impact of agriculture , water production and supply , thermal and electrical power production industry on the total consumption coefficient of water production and supply sectors was highlighted. It is found that the impact of water production and supply sectors on the national economy gradually increases , and water supply and consumption are being rationally developed. According to the results of empirical analysis , it is suggested that the regional water supply system should be strengthened so as to improve its supply efficiency and relieve the regional water use crisis.
