Green, Maria L. Turner, Julia A. Segre t Human skin is a large, heterogeneous organ that protects the body from pathogens while sustaining microorganisms that influence human health and disease. Our analysis of 16S ribosomal RNA gene sequences obtained from 20 distinct skin sites of healthy humans revealed that physiologically comparable sites harbor similar bacterial communities. The complexity and stability of the microbial community are dependent on the specific characteristics of the skin site. This topographical and temporal survey provides a baseline for studies that examine the role of bacterial communities in disease states and the microbial interdependencies required to maintain healthy skin.• 美国国立卫生研究院、美国国家人类基因组研究所和 美国国家癌症研究所对人体皮肤微生物进行了较为详 细的研究。 • 研究对象:10名健康志愿者 • 发现分属19个门,205个属的11.2万种菌 Science. 2009 May 29;324(5931):1190-2
