Dialogue1: Talking About Food Wang:You've tasted foods of many cultures,I guess. Jean:Yes,I have.In America,People like to dine out for a change at weekends. Wang:What food is your favorite? Jean:Chinese food.What struck me most is its varieties and delicacy.Since China is a large country with more than 50 nationalities and long history,it is not surprising to find that many Chinese eat differently.But I don't know which varieties are more typical. Wang:Well,it is pretty hard to generalize about Chinese food.Yet there are eight well-known dishes,Guangdong dishes,Jiangsu dishes,Zhejiang dishes., Hunan dishes,Fujian dishes,and Anhui dishes. Jean:I know that Sichuan dishes are very hot.But I wonder why Sichuan people like hot food as the weather there is hot enough. Wang:They say hot food makes you perspire.Perspiration will lower your temperature and thus you'll feel less hot.
