Abstract Since the first kind of antibiotic,Penicillin,was discovered by Alexander Fleming, a British chemist and biologist,antibiotics has been used by human beings for nearly a century.As a kind of efficient and relatively cheap antibacterial material,antibiotics have been playing an important role in our history of medical science.However,new problems arose with the wide-range application of antibiotic medicines.Bacterial antibiotic resistance due to the abuse of antibiotics is the most threatening one among those problems.What's worse,the new"Super Bacteria"with multidrug resistance have been reported globally.Besides,the negative effects on environment caused by antibiotics are gradually attracting more attention. This essay firstly introduces the basic knowledge of antibiotics,bacteria with antibiotic resistance,the history and present usage of antibiotic medicines.After a brief description of the working principles as well as regular patterns of development of antibiotics and bacteria with resistance,a series of corresponding measures are presented in the end.
