Part I Questions 1-10 are based on Passage 1. Passage 1 Passage 1 is an extract from the famous story Frankenstein which is written by Mary Shelley. The monster told Frankenstein that,if he would make a mate for him,he would go to the jungles of South America and would have nothing more to do with other people. Frankenstein agreed to this request and went off to Scotland to work on the new creature.His friend,Henri Clerval,traveled with him but knew nothing about what Frankenstein was doing. Frankenstein and Clerval moved on to Ireland,but the monster followed them and killed Clerval.Frankenstein was accused of the murder and spent three months in jail before being proved innocent and being released. Soon,he returned to Switzerland.Some time later,he married his childhood sweetheart,Elizabeth,but on their wedding night,while Frankenstein was searching the inn to make sure the monster was not there,Elizabeth was strangled in her bed.
