A Reflection on Complex Chinese Characters and Simplified Chinese Characters in Ancient Chinese Classics Stud ies Zhang Shanwen Abstract: The author believes that it is necessary to have a comprehensive reflection on the big grapheme contradiction between Complex Chinese Characters and simplified Chinese Characters which has already caused lots of avoidable disadvantages, after plenty of examination by a number of teachers on both of them in teaching and study in Ancient Chinese Classics Literature in college. The reflection concerns the law on the character development, the character practice, and the methods to revise the contradiction phenomena in Chinese grapheme which are against the law and produce trouble in character practice.
