第31卷第2期 固体电子学研究与进展 Vol.31.No.2 2011年4月 RESEARCH PROGRESS OF SSE Apr.,2011 硅微电子学 具有量化噪声抑制的小数分频器 黄兆磊卢磊唐长文 (复旦大学专用集成电路重点实验室,上海,201203) 2010-2-02收稿.201102-16收改稿 摘要:介绍了一款用于分数分频频率综合器的具有量化噪声抑制功能的小数分频器。使用4/4.5双模预分频 器,将分频步长降为0.5,使带外相位噪声性能提高6B。∑4调制器和分频器的配合使用一种非常简单的编程方 式。采用同步电路消除异步分频器的抖动。采用该分频器的频率综合器在SMIC0.18mRF工艺下实现,芯片面 积为1.47mm×1mm。测试结果表明,该频率综合器可以输出1.2~2.1GHz范围的信号。测试的带内相位噪声小 于-97 dBc/Hz,.在1MHz频偏处的带外相位噪声小于-124dBc/Hz。在1.8V的电源电压下,消耗的电流为 16mA。 关键词:分频器:分数分频频率综合器;量化噪声抑制 中图分类号:TN432:TN772文献标识码:A文章编号:1000-3819(2011)02-0190-06 A Fractional Frequency Divider with Quantization Noise Suppression HUANG Zhaolei LU Lei TANG Zhangwen (State K ey Laboratory gf A SIC System.Fudan University,Shanghai,201203.CHN) Abstract:This paper presents a fractional frequency divider with quantization noise suppres- sion used in a fractional-N frequency synthesizer.By using a 4/4.5 dual-modulus prescaler,the step size of the divider is reduced to 0.5 and thus the out-of-and phase noise performance is im- proved by 6 dB.A simple programming method is introduced which is important for the coopera- tion of the divider and the >A modulator.A synchronizer is adopted to eliminate the jitter accumu- lation of asynchronous dividers.A frequency synthesizer using the frequency divider presented here is implemented in SMIC 0.18 um RF process and the die size is 1.47 mm XI mm.Measure- ment results show that the tuning range of the frequency synthesizer is from 1.2 GHz to 2.1 GHz.The measured in-band phase noise is less than-97 dBc/Hz@10 kHz,the outof-band phase noise at I MHz frequency offset is less than-124 dBc/Hz.The frequency synthesizer consumes 16 mA from a 1.8 V voltage supply.
