上泽充是大学 Dissecting and Solving the Problem of Student Procrastination in Chinese Universities 3.1.2 Staying up late to finish before deadline More seriously, procrastinators in universities usually have no choice but to complete his work at the expense of staying up late.In SJTU,there will be classrooms open the whole night which are provided for students to finish extra work. Many of them are forced to study at such a sleeping time, because they probably have once procrastinated their time.As previous researches have shown, ongoing sleep deprivation can be dangerous:All volunteers in the study eventually had a drop in alertness. One became an insomniac.(Harrar Stratton,2003). What's more,it can render people's efficacy slump and even subtract one's lifespan, which is more pernicious. 3.2 Mental repercussions Physical harm is one of the most important influences of Ap,while mental frustration is another detriment brought by it.It is proposed by Sirois(2004)that procrastination is a behavioral style affecting physical and mental health, mediated through a behavioral pathway:poor health of procrastinators may be explained directly by the stress resulting from procrastination, failing to cope effectively, and indirectly by the tendency to put off important health behaviors. Here our definition of 'mental repercussions' includes short-term frustration of mood and long-range deflection of personality. Previous researches have shown that procrastinators compared with non-procrastinators reported significantly lower positive actions, expression feelings or needs, assertiveness and motivation_(Ferrari Diaz-Morales,2014;Nicholson Scharff, 2007).They are also more liable to depression, anxiety and higher perceived stress (Sirois et al.,2003).So,mental frustration also takes a place in the negative impact on AP-sufferers. In our investigation,we can find out that many interviewees view the mental frustration as a major one:most people choose 'Adding the pressure of days before deadline',and a number of participants select 'Making people's actions torpid'and 'Uplifting people's diffidence. We can discover that it is necessary to analyze the mental frustration thoroughly 3.2.1 Short-term frustration of mood 3.2.1.1 Fatigue Here, the 'fatigue'refers to the mental fatigue.A vivid analogy is that 'Fighting procrastination is a race against time'(Yuan,2012),which describes a feeling of exhaust during the time rush before deadline. It is not difficult to feel that after a whole day's continuous work, how tired one will be.The tiredness is not only 11Dissecting and Solving the Problem of Student Procrastination in Chinese Universities 11 3.1.2 Staying up late to finish before deadline More seriously, procrastinators in universities usually have no choice but to complete his work at the expense of staying up late.
