This course is intended to introduce Objectives medical students the basic aspects of infectious diseases, especially those that are contagious The contents of the course include an introduction, followed by infectious Course diseases including viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections. Two Description lessons on fever and sepsis syndrome are also included Course requirements Students who take this course is supposed to have background knowledge in microbiology, immunology, histopathology, and have already taken courses on physical and laboratory diagnostics Teaching methods: Two hour Lecture per week for 20 weeks, plus 4 bedside discussions Instructor 's Academic background Dr. Wenhong Zhang is a professor of internal medicine. He is also the head of the department of infectious diseases at Huashan Hospital. This course is intended to introduce medical students the basic aspects of infectious diseases, especially those that are contagious. Course Description The contents of the course include an introduction, followed by infectious diseases including viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic infections. Two lessons on fever and sepsis syndrome are also included. Course Requirements: Students who take this course is supposed to have background knowledge in microbiology, immunology, histopathology, and have already taken courses on physical and laboratory diagnostics. Teaching Methods: Two hour Lecture per week for 20 weeks, plus 4 bedside discussions. Instructor's Academic Background: Dr. Wenhong Zhang is a professor of internal medicine. He is also the head of the department of infectious diseases at Huashan Hospital.
