中国社会科学院大学 English News Commentary 课程大纲 课程基本信息（Course Information） 课程编号 （Course ID） 1282020073 *学时 （Credit Hours） 32 *学分 （Credits） 2 *课程名称 （Course Name） 英文新闻评论 English News Commentary 先修课程 （Prerequisite Courses） *课程简介 （Description） 本课程的开设顺应教育部《关于中央部门所属高校深化教育教学改革的意见》 和《关于深化本科教育教学改革全面提高人才培养质量的意见》提出的人才培养目 标，从各教学环节加强对专业英语教育教学质量的调控，契合学校和学院国际化发 展的整体思路。 课程均以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，落实立德树人的根本任 务。同时，按照国家一流本科专业建设和教育现代化总体要求探索和拓展国际传播 课程集群建设过程中，深入在教学方式等方面挖掘其蕴含的思想政治教育元素，形 成于我校科教融合教学和办学特色交相辉映的国际传播一流本科课程体系，构建更 高水平人才培养体系。 课程定位于夯实学生的学科理论基础和拓展学生的国际化视野和学术路径。课 程围绕“新文科建设”这一核心，以通识教育、专业素养、复合型人才培养、国际 化接轨为关键词探析出这五个方面的相互关联、逻辑关系、协调路径等，注重国内 和国际接轨，强化本土化教学理念。课程讲授过程中力求理念新颖、特色鲜明、体 系完备。 系列课程之English News Writing课程在2019年荣获北京高校优质本科教材课件 奖，并于2020年1月获得课程建设的立项支持。 English News Commentary 在国内高校新闻传播专业同类课程中独具前瞻性，呈 现出体系化、前沿化、专业化、国际化等特点，在同行同类课程中认可度高。 全英文授课能够更好地拓展学生的国际化视野，契合学校国际化发展、双一流 目标的建设和发展，以及新文科建设的主旨和目标。 在课程设计上既体现其科学性、完整性和条理性，同时深度思考如何能更加有 助于英语非母语的国内选课学生的理解和吸纳，建立较为完善的国际新闻课程 群的知识架构，形成较为独立的学科体系。 *课程简介 （Description） This course aims to:
• prepare journalism and communication students for upper-level courses, internships and the workplace; • introduce them to the way reporters do their jobs – how they think, act and produce newsworthy stories; • help non-communication majors improve their news reading and writing levels; • provide students with a skills-based immersion in news writing; • learn about reporting, writing and editing the news; • learn about how the recent convergence of print, broadcast and online media is impacting journalism and public relations and how it may affect the future. Teaching methods: • Lecture; • Reading the assigned texts and handouts; • Doing in-class and after-class assignments, discussion, guessing the words, and so on; • Doing a presentation; • Hands-on reporting and writing news stories and features.
