hand or footThemeridians starting or terminating at the handare named"Hand",while those starting orterminating at the foot are named "Foot".So thetwelve meridians are divided into four groups:three yin meridians of hand, three yang meridiansof hand, three yin meridians of foot, and threeyang-meridians of foot. Each of the meridian isnamed according to the medial orthe lateralaspect of hand or foot, the names to which zangand fu pertain, and the nature of yin or yang
