It is a dark comedy and finds great humor in what most people regard as inappropriate subject matter. Black comedy mocks serious topics such as death and religion and makes fun of various organized, logical aspects of our everyday existence. It is often grotesque and morbid. The closest example of black comedy in the theatre is a small number of plays that fall under the genre of tragic farces 3.
