Yes US was interesting and rushed-Carmen really enjoyed herself-she got on very well with friend's daughter who is just a year older.I'm now UP TO MY EARS AND EYES in final push on E844.I'd love to read your Halliday paper-is it in English or Chinese? Guillermo sends a big HI and we talk now and again about a future trip to China--some day!!! How are the family?Like you,I must try and work less But I don't know when

◆Text4 Many of the above mentioned factors cannot be measured in any definable terms,so this adds to the difficulty in defining the relationships between individual learner characteristics and second language learning,which in turn makes it less easy for us to discover what are the "best"methods of second language teaching.(Mitchell and Myles,2001;Lightbown and Spada, 2001)On the other hand,since the mid-20th century,language has been believed to be embedded in the wider social context in which it is used and taken as a social process closely linked to individual social identities.(Graddol,1993;Fairclough, 1989).From this perspective,second language learning is"a process that is interactively and socially undertaken.(Burns et al.2001:116)This is why Roberts (2001)proposes that the process of second language acquisition should be a process of language socialization
