Chapter 19 Running Gear 同©大学 TONGII UNIVERSITY The function of running gear >To receive the torque from the engine and produce driving force caused by the tire's adhesion to the road surface,in order to ensure the normal driving conditions; >To transmit and receive forces and torques from the wheels; >To mitigate impacts from the road surface,dampen the vibration and ensure the ride comfort of vehicles; >Co-operating with the steering system,to achieve the correct control of the direction of travel and ensure the handling stability of vehicles; >Co-operating with the braking system,to ensure the braking behavior of vehicles
