Chapter 1 Clutch Section 2 Friction Clutch 2.The Components and Working Principle of Friction Clutches Friction clutches mainly including active part, driven part,hold- down mechanism and control mechanism. The working principle is that clutches transmit torque relying on friction between the friction surfaces of the active part and driven part. 2.1 Composition (1)Active part:Including the flywheel, clutch cover, pressure plate, which rotes together with the engine crankshaft. (2)Driven part:Including the driven plate and the clutch shaft. (3)Hold-down mechanism:Usually formed by helical springs or diaphragm springs 机城电子工程学度 Automobile and Tractor Northwest A&F University
