Teaching Plan Speaking&Listening::Surprise endings孙方方 1 Teaching Content The content of this class is to listen to a lecture about the life of O.Henry and to grasp some beginning statements to disagree with people in a polite way 2 Teaching Plan 1)Analysis of students The students to be taking this lesson are 9th Graders or teenagers.Psychologically,it is typical of teenagers to be eager to know more and to form their own opinions about things instead of being given or taught;Besides,most of the teenagers are interested in students of the same age.From the perspective of language ability,most students have been able to follow an all-English online class. 2)Analysis of the teaching content The teaching content is a lecture about the life of O.Henry and some beginning statements to disagree with people in a polite way. Besides,the listening material is an addition to the reading part which can satisfy teenagers eagerness for more knowledge;What's more,the speaking part is suitable for teenagers in that they are in a stage where disagreeing happens a lot,which makes it important for them to know how to show disagreement in a polite way and show their own opinions.Last but not least,some additional material downloaded from the Internet for recorded by my students are included to make the class close to life and rich in content. 3)Teaching aims Based on the analysis of the teaching content and the students,I have chosen the following as the aims of my lesson. (1).Knowledge aims a.Students will know about the life of O.Henry. b.Students will know how to disagree with other people politely (2).Ability aims a.Students can develop their macro abilities of speaking and listening and some micro abilities such as predicting and guessing etc. b.Students can develop their ability to show their disagreement and their opinions politely in real-life situation. (3).Emotion and attitude aims a.Hopefully,students can be more independent learners since immediate responses during the class are impractical and thus unavailable. b.Students can be more inclusive in daily life to live in harmony with difference. 4)Important points and difficult points (1)Important points
