Zuo Zhuan is the most well-recognized chronological history book written in ancient China, with the largest number of words in the Thirteen Classics of Confucianism. Outlined by the Spring and Autumn Annals, a history record of Lu Dynasty compiled in the Spring and Autumn Period, Zuo Zhuan recorded 255 years of history with 12 sovereigns in chronological order. It mainly focuses on the history of the Lu Dynasty and also records the history of the royal families of the Zhou Dynasty and various vassal states, the contents of which include employment, alliance, expedition, hegemony and so on. It has exerted an important impact on the development of later history, literature and academic history, which is an important document for studying the laws and regulations, social customs, ethnic relations, astronomy and history, and geographical evolution of the Spring and Autumn

With the culture of the Spring and Autumn Period as the background, combined with the history and figures, the value judgment criterion and the principle of moral adherence reflected in Zuo Zhuan are mainly introduced. The survival of the Chinese nation through adversity is closely related to the continuous interpretation and inheritance of the cultural spirit carried in it throughout history.
